JOHNSONVILLE SALE.
Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on Johnsonville sale, held yesterday, as follows:—
To an average attendance of the public we submitted the usual yarding of all classes of stock. The cattle offered comprised mostly, medium-weight bullocks, with, a few pens of: heavier sorts. Prices again showed a drop as compared with last week's sale.. ' Sheep comprised mostly wethers, with an odd pen of ewes, practically the whole of the yarding being shorn sheep. We also offered a few pens of extra prime hoggets. Lambs were yarded in larger numbers than previously. Competition for sheep was good at late rates, while lambs met with a good demand at slightly reduced prices. We quote:—Extra heavy bullocks, £17, £17 ss, £18 ss; heavy bullocks, £14 10k, £15, £15 10s, £10 ss; medium cows, £8; medium heifers, £10; vealers, £1 16s, £1 19s, £2 18s, £3, £3 8s; heavy shorn wethers, 295, 29s 6d, 30s; medium shorn wethers, 275, 28s; heavy shorn young ewes, 24s to 255; heavy shorn ewes, 225, 22s 6d, 235; woolly hoggets, 28s, 295; shorn hoggets, 245, 24s 6d; spring lambs, 225/ 22s 6d, 245, 255, 25s 3d.
