CHKISTCHUKCH, This Day. The necessary financial arrangement! in. connection with the erection of a statue in the city to the memory of Captain James Cook have been mada by the donor of the statue, Mr, M. F« Barnett. In addition to the sum of £500 formerly donated, Mr. Barnett has giveu a bond to find £1500 or so, as much more or less as might be required for the erection of the statue. Mr. Barnett has undertaken to carry oat th» whole of the work, but will submit th<i design for the council's approval' be* fore its final adoption.
