Mr. IP. W. Freeman: '{The North Island is not happy unless it is getting the /share. It does not wish to spare even a morsel for the South Island. What we ask is only our just due." Mr. G. M. Hall said that the most important line to be completed at present was the Gisborno line. It was moro important than even the Christ-charch-Picton lino. Gisborne was the most isolated place in New Zealand. It was decided to send copies of the abridged report to members of Parliament and to bodies interested in the subject. On Mr. J. D. Hall's motion, appreciation was expressed of Sir Joseph Ward's announcement, as to the completion of the lino.
