Petonc's Great Cariiival Week (30th March to 6th April), under the auspices of the Petono Amateur Athletic and Cycling Cub, opened to-day in brilliant weather on the Petono foreshore, tho opening being attended by big holiday crowds. The Eastbourne ferry and .bus service advertise special holiday timetables for Easter Sunday, when Miss Lily Copplestonc is to attempt to.swim Wellington Harbour. She is to leave tho Eastbourne Ferry Wharf, Wellington, about .10.30 .a.m., and will be accompanied at various stages of the journey by several champion lady swimmers, including Miss Kathleen Miller.

Other holiday fixtures are tho Ponokc v. Greytown Easter football matches, at Greytown, and tho Eastern Suburbs' seventh annual bowling tournament under the auspices of the Lyall Bay, Seatoun, and Hataitai Clubs. The results of the first four rounds are given in another column.
