NO BALLOT PAPERS BURNED

SYDNEY, 28th March. Tho Police Commissioner' officially states that no ballot papers or effigy of the judge were burned last night in connection with the timber workers' procession, but some ruffians, burned old newspapers in sacks. Lieut.-G'olonel Bruxner, who is relieving the Chief Secretary, has accepted this explanation. He declares that Mr. Garden's assurance that the ballot-burning and effigy-burning episode arranged for would not occur, was faithfully kept. All the men arrested last night have bf-en remanded till after the Easter holidays on bail.
