"THE MIDNIGHT FROLICS."
At tho Grand Opera House at the matinee to-day the "Midnight Frolics" will commence their return Wellington season tinder the J. C. Williamson banner. Long seasons have characterised this company ever since its Inauguration in Australia some time ago, and its success continues in New Zealand. Eric Edglcy and Clem Dawe, tho principal comedians, first made the acquaintance of New Zealanders through the medium of pantomimo. Of all comedians who have ever appeared on the vaudeville and legitimate stage, Clem Dawo ranks as one of tho highest in the profession. Ho lias a worthy partner in Eric Edgley. Musically the revuo boasts somo stars "of unusual magnitude. Oscar Beck is a tenor with a voice of great clarity; Gregory Ivanoff, a Russian violinist of undoubted proficiency and unerring touch; William Perryman posseses a fine voice and breezy personality; Gertie Cremer and John Robertson are pleasing artists; Phyllis Amery is the premiere danseuso of the company; Dorothy White, a musical and dramatic performer of excellent ability; Ronald Stafford, a masterly musician with the company, and last, but not lcuj't, is the Dick Dorothy Trio. Complete changs of all new programmes will be given \l ekly. Special interest attaches to this return season, as it marks the first appearance here with the company of Mona Magnet, who has just returned from a big London success. This popular lady some years ago played the leading role here in J. C. Williamson's "Peep Show" and "Cabaret Girl" companies. The box plans and day sales for the holidays arc at the Opera House Confectionery.
