WEDDING

A wedding of considerable interest in sporting circles was. solemnised at St. John's Church on Wednesday, when Edith Emily, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Lang, of Wellington, was married to James Tunis, only sou of Mrs. T. W. Leslie and the late Mr. J. Turn's, and stepston of Mr. T. W. ("Dorrie") Leslie. The Rev. J. R. lilauchard was ilic officiating minister. The bride, who was escorted by her father, made a charming ligure in a gown of ivory chenille georgette with long embroidered tulle veil. The bridesmaid^ Misses Dorothy Archibald and Elsie Leslie, attractively gowned in cyclamen chenille georgette and blue chenille georgette respectively, carried bouquets of orchids and roses, and each wore a rhinestone necklace to tone with her frock, these being the gifts of the bridegroom. Dressed in silver lace, little Miss Gloria Wright made a dainty trainbearcr. She wore a signet ring, the'gift of tiro bridegroom. Mr. Maurice Archibald was best man, and Mr. Lewis Taylor groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at The Uitz, where about eighty guests were present. Mrs. L.'ing received the guests wearing a frock of navy blue. The bridegroom's mother wore black satin, and carried a posy. The great popularity of the bride and bridegroom (who is a. well-known amateur boxer) \v ( as evidenced by the numerous gifts received from a largo circle of friends. Mr. and Mrs. Turfis later .left' by- car for the North, the latter wearing a brown crepe do chine- frock, with lint, slioo;, stocking?, and fur coat to match.
