RUGBY REFEREES

At the annual meeting of the New Zea- ] iand Rugby Referees' Association, held* this morning, Mr. D. M'Kenzie (Wellington) intimated that he was not seeking re- j election to the office of president, which he has held since 1913.
Mr. Kronfieki (Auckland) moved that the referee place the ball in the scrummage on all occasions. An amendment was also moved that words "where possible" be added.
Both the amendment and the motion were -rejected. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr. Peter Mackie (Auckland); vice-presidents, one from each association committee, Messrs. A. M. Sims (South Canterbury), C. White (Manawatu), D. M'Kenzie, G. Bradley, T. A. Fletcher, L. Seivers, E. S. Hylton (Wellington); auditor, Mr. A. W. Crowthers.
It was decided to appoint a salaried secretary. The headquarters are to remain at Wellington. The next conference will bo held at Christchurch.
