BAY OF ISLANDS SEAT
.Nominations for the by-election in the Bay. of Islands electorate; fixed for 10th April, will close at noon to-mor-row. Up till this afternoon only two nominations had been olHcially received r-tliosc of Mr. A. Bell, who was declared defeated as the result of the General Election until an Election Court declared that poll null "ami void, and Mr. 11. M. Uushwoit.li, who was shown to have been returned before the Court made its decision. Mr. Bell entered the House as an Independent, and subsequently consistently gave the* Reform Government his support. It is understood that he still maintains the same attitude. Mr. Kushworth is a Country Party nominee, the sole representative of that, party- who has ever'sat in the House. He took his seat at the commencement of the short session'of Parliament in December. It is not anticipated that any further nominations will b^ received.
