Nine men were arrested as th,Q result' 'jof a lightning raid by a large posse iof detectives on city offices, in'an icffort ' [fco stamp out tho operations of "gobetters." Several of tho men wore already' well known to tho police in connection with land transactions. Tho .Criminal Investigation Branch hopes by placing as many a3 possible behind jlh'e bars, to protect the- public from ■the type of man who deals in property jfchafc is non-existent or belongs to sometone else.
