Choral _ Society for ■■ sixteen years, -and' .is, hlso. a; singer .of yepiitc, having wou>.the Ascott Scholarship at Oxford,'the, first prize for opcu tenor solo at, the,.Oxfordshire Competitive Festival, also the gold medal for the same section at the Bristol Eisteddfod. In addition to his cbnductorship of the Ipswich Choir,, Mr. Dixon was for some years conductor o£ the Felixstow'e Choral Society, and for many years was professional coaph for the London and North-Eastern Railways Male Choir; Ipswich Operatic Society, and many others.: As a coach Mr. Dixon has few equals. No less than eighteen of his pupils were first-prize winners at the Suffolk competitions during the past four years.. Mr. Dixon also entered .five choirs for the open church choirs and open choral contests at this festival, and in each j'ear his choir was awarded first prize. Mr. Dixon has also adjudicated at many' festivals / in the counties of EngJand, and the.'society is to-be'congratu-lated upon securing his. services. '
