A statue is to be erected in ChrisV church as a memorial to Captain James Cook. The probable site will be on the grass plot opposite Limes Hospital.* This decision was reached at a public! meeting held at the.City Council,Cham-! ber following an offer by Mr. M. • F. Barnett to'present £500 towartjs the funds for such a memorial. An appeal is to bo niado to the public to subscribe the remaining funds.. ■ •■..'.!
