SCHOOL

"I want you to realise that if you 'had been a bit older you might hare boon sentoneed to a term of imprisonnieiit for the sorious damage which you have done," were thewords with which Mr. T. B. M'Neil, S.M., addressed three boys at tho Petono Juvenile Court today.

During the school holidays the Petone Technical School was twice entered- and very considerable damage was done. .Preserved eggs, to be used ia the cookery class, were broken and' smeared over the walls, floors, and ceilings of several rooms. Flour, and Jeyeg fluid were used likewise. Papers wef« destroyed, chemical apparatus broken, and. windows smashed. Altogether; the damage and the cleaning necessary-to' be done amounted to £18 3s 6d. The boys wore severely admonished/ ■and one, who was proved to; be.the ringleader in both offences, was placed under the supervision of the Welfare Officer for twelve 'months.
