CASH ORDER TRADING

INQUIRY BY MINISTER

(Special to "The Evening Post.")

AUCKLAND, This Day

A Ministerial inquiry concerning the operation of the casli order trading system, not to be confused with tho cash on delivery parcels post system, will be commenced at tho end of February. The Minister of Industries and Commerce (tho Hon. J. G. Cobbe) stated in an interview this afternoon that he would conduct tho inquiry in person.

It has been arranged that tho inquiry shall open' in Wpllington. Afterwards tho Minister will come to Auckland. Christchurch and Dunodin will also bo visited, and other centres i£ necessary. Tho Minister will bo assisted by the secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce (Air. J. W. Collins) and Mr. G. Clinkard (advisory officer to tho Department). Evidence will bo heard from all sides in each ot' the centres visited.

Tho inquiry will not be open to the Press for the reason that much of tho evidence will be of a nature which will reveal the financial details of many trading concerns.

A statement concerning tho inquiry will bo issued to the Press at ihc Miniister's discretion. ,
