THE HAWKE CUP
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMEKSTON N., This Day. In the' Hawke Cup cricket match yesterday Manawatu closed their first innings for 427. Wairarapa replied with 189, and were compelled to follow on. They had lost three wickets for 80 runs when stumps were drawn. This morning Blamires and Morton resumed AVairarapa's second innings. The century appeared after ninety minutes' play. Blamin-s's useful innings ended with the total at 124, Xorris catching the veteran, who made sb'. "Morton was thn next batsman to lose his wicket. Ho hit Ongley hard to deep iield and Gallichan took a good catch. Five wickets for 140 runs. Scoring was very slow, K. Uttley and Patrick taking no risks, but when the score had reached 186, Patrick lost his wicket, being followed by Uttley. The eighth wicket fell when the score was 190.
