LONDON PRODUCE PRICES.

The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram,_ dated 26th instant, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:—

Tallow.—Market steady at last quotations.

Eggs.—Market quiet and prices lower. Present quotations are: English, 16s to 23s per long 100; Dutch, French, 17s to 21s; Irish, Danish, 17s 3d to 18s 6d; South African, 15s to 16s; Polish, Russian, and Australian, 11s 6d to 13s 6d; Egyptian, 8s Bd to 8s 9d.

Hemp.—Manila market still dull and values unchanged. Sisal market quieter, but little change in prices. No. 1, fair average quality offered £43 5s to £43 10s; No. 2, £41, January-March shipments. New Zealand market continues quiet. No first hand business reported. By comparison with other sorts nominal c.i.f. values for January-March shipment are: Highpoints £36 10s, fair £34, common £31; tow, second grade £23, third grade £19. Wool—Sales continue with good clearance at easier rates. The Bank o£ New South Wales has received the following cable advice from our London office dated 25th January:— Wool.—Market firm, unchanged. • Mutton.—Wethers, 5V2d to /%d; advance in price checked demand; ewes, 4%d to 5%d, little better demand. Lambs, 9%d to lOVad, declined, very poor demand at present; beef, 3%d to 4%d, quiet, unchanged; pork, 6%d to 7%d. Butter.—lß2s to 184s, steadier; cheese: white, 91s to 925; coloured, 92s to 945, quieter.
