FALSE PRETENCES

AUCKLAND, This Daji.
Pleading guilty to seventeen charges of false preteiices by tendering valueless cheques in various parts of the country of a total value of £127 14s, Go urge Thomas Nelson, aged 27, a salesman, was sentenced at the Police Court to two years' hard labour. Last March ho completed a term of three years' reformative treatment. He is to appear at /jiTamilton on a charge of forgery. A charge emanating from Wellington was> withdrawn.
