Syd Chaplin's latest success. "Tho Fortune Hunter," Is now being shown at Shortt s Theatre. This Is a screen version of tho play which held New York and Chicago playhouses for two years, aud enjoyed a spectacular success on tho road, as well as being the vehlclo which gave John Barrymoro tils real start on tho way to fame "The fortune Hunter" is a human, happy-go-lucky, exciting drama. It portrays the unusual doings 'if a young man who comes to a country town on a wagor to marry tho richest girl/ and share fifty-fifty with tho pal who staked him. Tho locale Is a Vermont village Helena Costcllo is tho leading lady, playing the part of the rich girl, while Clara ITorton Is tho poor girl. The supporting attraction will ho the English production, "Whito Slippers," starring tho eminent actor, Matheson Lanif, and Joan Lockton. Thoro will lm «. Konri supporting programme.
