UP TO DATE

STATE ADVANCES LOANS

DECLINE IN APPLICATIONS

In all eases in which valuations have boon completed, the State Advances Department is now up to date with its applications. The same position applies in regard to loans under the intermediate rural credit system, stated tho Prime Minister and Minister of Finance (the Right Hon. Sir Joseph Ward) to a "Post" representative to-day.

Sir Jospph stated that at the last meet ing of tho State Advances Board there were only thirty-six applications, for amounts totalling £05,242. Of this amount £35,935 was authorised for payment by tho board. The business of the Rural Intermediate Credit Board was also in a similar position, said the Prime Minister, and a report furnished to him indicated that there had been a falling off in the number of new applications. It could now be said that both Departments were right up to date so f_ar as cases in which valuations had been completed were concerned.
