SYDNEY, This Day.
Tho Labour movement in New South Wales is still hopelessly disunited, and is tho laughing-stock of the rest of the Commonwealth.
Tho Australian Workers' Union, whoso annual convention is now being held at Coolangatta, has declared war on the Communists, or "the Reds," as it dubs them, and claims that this faction is trying to wreck the Labour movement with the connivance of prominent men in the official Labour Council. •
Tho Australian Labour Party Executive, in turn, argues that they, too, are trying to save '. the Labour movement from destruction, and they are wooing the support of tho Australian Workers' Union, who are; at present playing a lone hand. ■ , . •
The Easter conference of the Austra; lian Labour Party is approaching and opportunity 'will be utilised to try to patch up the differences of these two units, but those behind the scenes assert that.there is not tho slightest hope of the Australian Workers' Union effacing itself in this manner. The Labour Council, which is really representative of industrial trades unionism and tho "Bed" element, has closed every avenue toward reconciliation of tho Labour forces.
