PRICES AT WANGANUI

WANGANUI, 23rd January. The second sale of the Wauganui scries was held to-day, when 25,000 bales were offered to a full bench oE buyers, who, however, did not provide very keen competition. The sale was a vory erratic one, with a large percentage of passings. Finer wools were sought after to some extent, and held the recent price levels, but coarser grades were lower by %d to Id than December prices here. Continental requirements were suited by a large percentage of the offering, and German buyers took the greater proportion, Bradford co-operating in restricting limits*, which frequently did not approach vendors' ideas of values.
