Dr. and Mrs. Percy Herring arrived in Auckland by the TJlimavoa on Tuesday, and have gone to Rotqrua. Dr. Herring is one of New Zealand's most distinguished scholars. His boyhood was spent on his father's run, the Alford Estate, in Canterbury. ■ Ho entered Canterbury College and rapidly attained distinction, both in the "medical and scholastic world. He is, and has been for many years, principal of St. Andrew's University, in Scotland.
