CONTROL OF MEETINGS
AMATEUR ATHLETIC MATTER
A correspondent ("Sauce for the Goose") writes as follows:—"At a recent meeting of the Wellington Centre of the Amateur Athletic Association it was decidedl that all sports meetings held in Wellington City be run by the above centre, and that no club be allowed to hold Piiiy meetings individually, this action Tjeiug subsequently upheld by the New Zealand Council. Wsll, Sir, on Saturday night last a meeting was held b.y the Wellington Amateur Athletic Cl.ub in defiance of the centre's ruling. Does this mean that tho Wellington. Club runs the centre and the New Zealand Council, or that the centre is - afraid to take disciplinaiy action in the matter such as would bo dealt out to a weaker clubf
The Wellington Amateur Athletic Club api^ealed to the New Zealand Council against the centre's decision, and the result is published elsewhere in this -fissue. It is likely that the centre wiDi give further consideration to the master at its meeting to-night.
