The stewards have begun an inquiry into the crowding incident iv the Chelmsford Stakes Happy Warrior, unfancied by the bettors, was leading along the back, half a dozen lengths ahead of Eionseup, with Limerick well back. At tl»e turn into the straight the field closed, and considerable crowding occurred. Then Limerick stretched out in earnest, beat off Winalot, and won by a length, with Happy AVarrior a length away third. .Statesman finished well, btit Kaasay suffered badly opposite the stand. The inquiry will bo resumed to-day.
