THE LYTTELTON TUNNEL
WORK WELL ADVANCED
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") CHBISTCHUBCH, This Day. By tlio Turakina, which reaches Lyttelton on 9th October, practically all the gear for the sub-station now in course of erection at Woolston for tho electrification of tho Christchurch-Lyt-telton railway line will arrive. The building should bo completed early next month. The installation of the gear will occupy about two months. Three of the six electric locomotives similar to those in use at Otira liavo also been shipped fom England. As each weighs about 50 tons, thoir handling ;it Lyttclton may present some problems. The gangs which have beeu working on the erection of poles and high tension wires between C'liristcliurch and Lyttelton liavo completed (lie work, except for the wiring of tlio tunnel, and are now engaged in cleaning up ami tuning up the equipment. The wiring of tlio tunnel will not bp undertaken until everything else is in readiness.
