HAMMOND AS AMATEUR
Australian Press Association. LONDON, 4th Sept. It is freely rumoured that the cricketer Hammond, after his return from Australia, may apply to become an amateur. Hammond iS reluctant to make a statement of his plans,: but it is understood that there are certain prospective changes in his business career which render an amateur status possible.
