TO-DAY'S PROCEEDINGS
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL Tho Legislative Council met at 2.30 ;.m. to-day. Tho Christ's College (Canterbury) Bill was put through its final stages and passed. Sir James Allen asked whether the Government intends to make available fo» members of Parliament and thd public a report by the High Commissioner for New Zealand on vacating office, and dated 28th July, 1920, dealing with the work of the High Commissioner and the office. Sir James said he wanted to do what he could to bring about a closer connection between the High Commissioner and the Government. The Leader of the Council (the Right Hon. Sir Francis Bell) replied that the Government did not consider publication of the report* at this stage would serve any useful purpose. The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill, the Public Works Amendment Bill, and the Post and Telegraph Amendment Bill wore received from the House of Representatives, and read the first time. Tho Council adjourned at-2.3(5 p.m. until Tuesday next.
