County cricket matches during the week resulted as follow:— . Gloucestershire, first innings 523 (Dipper 86, Hammond 244, Lyon 50), Raison taking five .wickets for 104; and in tho second innings Ipst three wickets for 30. Essex, first innings 161, Mills tak-ing-four for 40. The side followed on' in the second innings, and made 388 (O'Connor 124, Russell 113), Parker taking-eight for 155. Gloucestershire won by seven wickets. Derbyshire^ first innings 234 (Jackson 85), Leyland taking four for 47; and in tho second innings made 199 ■ (•Storcr 57), Macaulay taking live for •76. Yorkshire declared in tho first innings when eight wickets had fallen for 485 (Holmes 67, Mitchell 91, Sutcliffo 111,' Leyland 149), Worthingloa taking four for 67. Yorkshire won by an innings and 52 runs. Kent, first innings 303 (Hardinge 64, Ashdown 136), and in the second innings lost two wickets for' 120 (Deed not out 71). ' Hampshire, first innings 131, Freeman taking live for 57. The side followed on, and scored 350 in tho second innings (Mead 130),. Freeman taking five for 132. Kent won by eight wickets. Sussex, first innings 481 (Bowley 75, Langridge 85, H. Parka 127). Warwickshire, first inings 308 (Parsons 130, Santall 59), Tate taking pix for 75, and in tho second innings lost six wickets for 345 (Groom not out 104, Santall not out 71). Sussex won on tho first innings. Nottinghamshire, first inuings 298 (George Gunn 71), Jupp taking seven for 110; and in the second innings declared after losing three wickets for 360 (George Gunn 159, Carr not out 100). Northamptonshire, first innings 154 (Walden 54), Richmond taking iive wiekeis for 45; and in the second innings 296 (Bellamy 78), Barratt taking iive for 53. Notts won by 208 runs. Lancashire, first innings 44G (Hallows 154, Watson 115). 'Worcestershire, first innings 127, R.
