ESTHER FISHER.
Amongst the few great ■womca pianists of tho world to-day Is Miss Esther Fisner. the young New Zealander, who. achieved such a great success In the Town Hall recently. In response to Insistent demancta she will lie diving an extra recital on Thursday, Kith Jiily. For the occasion she has chosen a very fine programme, amongst which will be found items new to Wellington audiences. At one of her recitals given in London in 1924, an eminent critic wrote: "New Zealand may well be proud of this pianist. Miss Fisher is evidently too fine a musician to stoop to 'stuntIng.' With her technique is only a means to an end, and most unobstnisively used to express the composer's thought, or emotion, as she .understands It. The result was delightful. " Personally, I do not ..remember hearing the Busonl arrangement of Bach's 'Chaconne' moro beautifully played. Miss Fisher has the making of a great pianist, and ran look forward to a brilliant future."
