STRAND THEATRE.

I "Sorrell and Son" will be shown finally at Iho Strand Theatre to-day. It inI tcrprets tho love of a father for a son from childhood to manhood, and tho I return comradeship of the son throughout tho j life of the parent. H. B. Warner, as the father Sorrell, gives an inspired interpretation. Littlo 1 Micky M'Ban paves the way, with his natural I childish lovo for his' father, for the convincing I playing by Nils Asthcr of the adult Kit. Tho remainder of the cast act their respective parts lin a convincing manner. I From below tho equator comes Douglas Fairbanks as "The Gaucho," which opens toI morrow at the Strand. Treasure lure is the dominating mood of the Fairbanks story. A cruel usurper has seized "the city of the miracle," whoso shrine has attracted pilgrims j from afar. The Gaucho outlaw, Doug, occupies the town unknown to the usurper. A wild I mountain girl, and a girl of tlio shrine arc ; strangely contrasted roles, and until tho end lof the play it is uncertain which girl the Gaucho will claim. Conflict nnd suspense reign throughout. Spectacles and thrills are I supplied by vast herds of cattle, and incomparably beautiful scenery.'. Doug's bravado, humour, and agility aTe strongly featured, and his use of that old.misslc, the bolas, adds the ever present touch of novelty. In the cast are Nigel de Bruller, Michael Vaviteh, Charles Stevens, AI MacQuarrle, Carlotta Monti, Eve Southern, Lupe Velcz, and Fred do Cilva. The box plan is at the theatre.
