BATHING FACILITIES

(To the Editor.) Sir,—Your article in yesterday's "Post" is very appropriate, and I trust will cause our City Councillors to give the matter immediate attention, so that adequate facilities will be available for next season. 1 At present every consideration is given to road pathing which is no doubt appreciated by those who have motor-cars, as it enables them to go in comfort to quiet places, in the country whore no dressing accommodation is required. Ratepayers who are unable to afford cars, and who assist in paying for these beautiful roads, must put up with the crude sheds for undressing at the nearest beach. When the^ road-making "hobby" becomes wearisome, and every little alley and lane is pathed, one of our City Fathers will wake up to the fact that there1 are other more important matters from a health and community point of view. If one-tenth of the money.recently spent on additions to our Hospital was devoted to the "prevention" ot sickness there would be no need to enlarge our hospital accommodation, and the health of the public would be greatly improved. ■ Eight years ago the public voted L in favour of baths, and it would be interesting to know what has been accomplished. Surely there is one councillor upon whom we may look to champion this cause and see that the wishes of ratepayers are carried out. Further delay means greater expense.—l am, etc., _ ■ SHARK'S BAIT. 9th March. . .
