Jtario- I'revost's characterisation of "Gei'lit" in "Gcttinj; Gertie's Garter," screening at Hie Paramount Theatre commenein;; to-nlElit, is said to be as amusing as one could wish. This release culminates In a clever scene where all the characters are brought together iv a barn, when the threads of a cleverly ingenious story are unravelled. Gertie Darling comes back from Paris engaged to Algy Brooks. Ken Walrick, to whom she was engaged the year before, had given her a garter with liis photo on it. Ken is now engaged Jo Teddy Desmond, so lie wants the garter back as much as Gertie desires to get rid of it. The rest of the plot is taken up in complications arising between tho two engaged couples owing to Ken's efforts to get. the garter. It ends by Algy and Teddy breaking off their respective engagements, and Gertie and Ken becoming engaged again. Bright supporting subjects Include latest gazette and comedy. Incidental music will be rendered by the Orchestra Paramount, including "Jolly Robbers" (Suppe) for the overture. The box plan is at the Brlstal Piano Co.
