METALLING OF ROADS
A letter rccoivedat to-day's meeting of the Makara County Council . from tho Public Works Department stated that! in the past some difficulty had boon experienced in obtaining satisfactory resolutions regarding tho maintenanco of roads by metalling out of Government grants. Tho matter had been considered and 'it had been, decided to frame a standard resolution for uso throughout New Zealand. The' wording decided, upon was* as. follows:—"That this council agrees,to efficiently maintain in future, to tho satisfaction of tho local representative- of the Public Worjcs'Department, tho road mctallod under, these, proposals. "All local bodies, added.tho loiter, were.being requested to sco that: all metalling proposals woro accompanied by., a resolution in the. above form.
