The general account Was' £6000 ill 'credit; the benevolent fund, on which there Were very few calls, £400 in credit; the School of Pharmacy fund £204 in credit. The last fund was very low as yet, but it Would grovv as soon as the necessary legislative power to start some school of. pharmacy, was obtained. What they wanted Was some period of compulsory attendance at a Bpecial school. The New Zealand tJuiverslty colleges, were approached some years ago, but it Was found that special cburaes, in botany and chemistry Wpuld be too expensive. They hoped "yet to bo ablo to come to some arrangement with the University colleges and failing that,1 to establish a specialschool in Wellingtoiii It was hoped that Parliament would do something during the nest session.
