SPRING FLOWER SHOW.
WELLINGTON HORTICULTURAL
SOCIETY-
The Wellington Spring Flower Show will be held in the Town Hall to-morrow. This year the entries are more numerous than ever, and a feast of beauty is promised. Daffodils will not altogether predominate, others flowers this year having come forward more than usual. Growers from Taranaki and the South Island: are showing, but most of the blooms will be from Otaki, Lower Hutt, and the environs of Wellington city. One Napier grower ii making a display of one' hundred carnations in pots, something new for a spring show. Keen competition is promised for the "R. A. Wright" Suburban Trophy, at present aeld by St. Thomas's Society, as eight societies are. seeking this trophy. The Amateur Daffodil Gup is also attracting great interest among Several growers, who have already won. it once, and require one more win for it to become their property. A first-class orchestra has been engaged for afternoon and evening. Tha ladies of the society will dispense afternoon tea, and will also run a flower stall. Given fine weather, it is anticipated that the show will excel anything previously staged in the Dominion. Their Excellences Sir Charles and Lady AJice Fergusson will perform the opening ceremony at 3 o'clock, and the show will ba' open continuously from 2.30 to 9.30 p.m.
