SYDNEY, This Day. The Australian Jockey Club has ap» pointed Mr. J. M'Mahon chairman of the stipendiary stewards'in the metropolitan area in succession to Mr. J. Higgins, who has resigned, two other stewards, Messrjs. F. "W. Coombes' ani L. Fraser, aad also two for.theiNewcastle area. Mr. M' Mahon was - chief stipendiary steward of the New Zealand Eacing Conference,, and Mr. Coombes also formerly acted as steward in New Zealand. Mr. M' Mahon's salary is £1000 a year, and the other two & 800 each.
