REGENT THEATRE.
Suggested by Marie Corelli's novel, directed by D. W. Griffith, acted by such stars as Adolphe Menlou. Lye de Putti, Ricardo Cortez, and Carol Dempster, "Sorrows of Satan," is drawing good houses to tho ■ Regent Theatre. Geoffrey Tempest, unsuccesful, starving, and in love, rails at his god and swears the devil would make a better master. Satan takes the opportunity and in the form of Prince Luclo, suave and very experienced, leads the young man to wealth, and an alluring princess. Tragedy follows tragedy. The Count then turns his fascinating attentions to Mavis Claire, Tempest's first love, whom he basely deserted when temptation called. But Claire has learned her lesson, and shuns the offer of an easier but baser life. So Satan has his hour, and Good finally triumphs over Evil. There arc good supports. Bertlnl, the vagabond composer-vio-linist, scores a great success with his facile playing, and. "Honolulu Moon" with community song slides. The overture was "Orpheus ia the Underworld," Offenbach. A lavish fashion show is one of the scores of unusual and Interesting spectacles in Esther Balaton's picture, "Fashion's for Women," which comes to the Regent Theatre next Friday. More than thirty exclusive creations, from aviation costumes for .woman to formal afternoon tea gowns are worn by Miss Ralston and fifteen beautiful mannequins. "Fashions For Women" was made for the screen by Dorothy Arzner, one of the first women ever promoted to tho position of director in the history of films. Supporting Miss Ralston are Elnar Hanson and Raymond Hatton. Seats may be reserved at tho theatre.
