THE CHANNEL SWIM

WHAT IT COSTS THE TRIERS

(United Press Association.—Copyright.) (Eeceived 19th September, 2 p.m.)

LONDON, 18th September. The "Daily Sketch" says that £5000 has been expended, mostly in vain, during the past three months on attempts to swim the Channel. Temme, who proposes shortly to swim from England to France, spent very little on his successful swim. Mrs. Corson spent £1000, Zitenfelds £1500, and the others from £150 to £200.
