Probably the best-known figure in the primary schools in Auckland, Jlr. F Ohlson, this week sent his resignation to the Education Board, to take effect at the end of the year. At present headmaster at Maungawhau, he has given over 40 years of painstaking service to education in the Auckland district. He has developed: one of the finest and most modern schools of the DoE;inio,n, besides rendering invaluable aid to several branches of sport, particularly Rugby, tennis, cricket, aud golf, in all of which his name is a household word.
At the Salvation Army Constable Street Hall to-morrow Captain Thomas will conihict the services. The mornhv subject will be "Where is the God of Elijah?" and at 7 p.m. "Is'it Well with Thoe?" In the afternoon, at 3 o'clock, a Sunday School primary department demonstration will be given by Sister M. M'Leod.
