QUARRY COMPENSATION
A NEW SOUTH WALES SCHEME
(United Press Association.—Copyright. > (Received 17th September, 2 p.m.) < SYDNEY, This Day. The Actiiig-Ministcr of Labour, Mr. Cruiekshaut, has approved a scheme of comx'ensation for stonemasons, quarrymen, rock-choppers, and sewer miners who have contracted silieosis in ■the course of their employment. The scheme provides that until tho Joint Committee, which is to be appointed, fixes the rates of subscription, all employers employing such workmen shall jay into the'fund a subscription equal to 5 per cent, of the wages actually paid to workmen.
