ISLAND BAY SCHOOL
In response to invitations issued by the School Committee a large number of residents assembled at the Island Bay School on Thursday. Mr. C. B. M'Dougall (chairman of the School Commitee), who presided, said the time had arrived when there should be a closer co-opera-tion between the parents and guardians and the staff of.-the school. There were many subjects that required attention, and an amalgamation of forces would make it possible to accomplish them. Ho welcomed Mr. Priestley (chairman), Mr. Harlcn (secretary), and Mrs. Stamp Taylor, of the Kelburn Normal School Parents' and Teachers' Association, and also Mr. 11. V. Penlington. and Miss Achieson (headmaster ,and headmistress respectively), of the Island Bay.School. . Itj was resolved that a Parents', Guard--sans'j and Old Pupils' Association be formed in. Island Bay.. Mr. Tomlin was appointed secretary, and it was decided to leave the election of a chairman and executive committee until the next meeting, $o be held next Wednesday.
