SKIN AND HIDE SALES.

_ Wellington brokers held their usual-fort-nightly sale.of skins and hides yesterday. There was a good attendance of buyers. Compared with previous sale dry sheepskins, firmer;,salted easier, but extra super lines realised Id more than last sale. Heavy ox hides were lower by V;d, medium at par. Cow hides appreciated %d to %d per lb-, yearlings and kips %d. Calfskins were up %d. Tallow was 6d per cwt higher. The official range 6£ prices was as follows:—

Sheepskins.—Halfbred, 12d to 14% d: fine crossbred, 12d to 13% d; medium-coarse crossbred, IOUd to 12% d; short to half wools, 9%d to 12% d; lambs, 9%d to ISttd; dead and damaged crossbred, 9%d to HVid; inferior and badly damaged, 4d to 9Md; pelts, 5d to B%d; damp, salted, and green, 6s to 11s 9d; lambs, salted, 3s to Bs. Hides.—Ox, ex heavy, 701b. and over, B%d to 9%d; ox, heavy, 591b to' 691b, 8d to 9%d; ox, medium, 531b to 581b, VM to 9d; ox, light, 451b to 521b, B%d to 9d; cut, slippy, and inferior, 5%d to 8d; cow, heavy, 531b and over, 7V4d to 9d; cow, medium, 451b to 521b, B%d to B%d; cow, light, 331b to 441b, B%d to 10% d; cut, slippy and inferior, 4%d to B%d; bull, stag, 2d to 4%d; yearlings, 111b to 161b, 9d to 10% d; yearlings, 171b to 321b, B%d to 10% d; calf, superior, up to 101b, 14% d to 15% d; calf, medium-good, up to 101b, 107sd to 15% d; calf, damaged, up to 101b, 5d to 13d.
