OBITUARY

There passed away ut tho Home of Our Lady pf Compassion, Island Bay, on 24th July, Mrs. Therosa Mary Casey, au old resident of Wellington, vhero she was born in 1855. Solemn Roquiem High Mnsa was celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church, Island Bay, yesterday, the celebrant being the Roy. Dr. C. W. Casey, S.M., son oi' tho deceased, the Rev. Dean Connolly (Kilbirnic) was deacon, tho Rev. Father Chapman/ S.M. (Grcomnoadows), sub-deacon, and tho Rev. Father Mark Devoy, S.M., master of coremor/>s. Tho mass was snug by tho clorgy, rfder tho direction of tho Roy. Father Ryan, S.M., of St. Patrick's College. Over 20 priests were present, including the Very Rev. Dean Regnault, S.M., Father J. Kolly, SM. (Newtown), Father 8. Mahony, S,M. (St. Mary's), Father Smith, S.M. (Thorndon), Father M'Carthy, S.M. (Superior Marist Mission House), and Very Roy. Father Gilbert, S.M. (rector Bt. Patrick's College), as well as Bey. Mothor Ceoilia, Sister Mary Vincent (daughter of the deceased), and other sisters of the Community of Our Lady of Compassion, who attended deceased during her illness.. Tho Bervice'at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. Dr. Casey, S.M. Mrs. Casey was the widow of the late John James Casey, of tho old firm of Casey and M'Donald, drapers, Lambton quay. She leaves four sons, five daughtors, and" five grandchildren.
