ORDER TO. RESUME WORK

At a compulsory conference of the parties to the coal trimmers' strike at ■Newcastle, the chairman (Mr. Hibble) ordered the men to resume work at the earliest opportunity. The trimmers will meet to-morrow to consider the order, and it is anticipated that work will be resumed next week.
