PRICE OF TIMBER

CAUSE OP INCREASE

(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.")

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. We should take a leaf out of the Japanese book and use all imported timber, thus conserving Now Zealand's supplies," said the secretary of the Master Builders' Association (Mr. W H. Windsor) in the Arbitration Court on Saturday. His remark followed comments by Mr. Justice Frazcr, who said that the price of timber seemed to be increasing. He was not going to discuss timber prices, for that was a political matter, but whatever one might think about the present price it appeared that as New Zealand bush was cut out, timber would become dearer, as there would be further to haul it. Tho timber supplies of tho world were not inexhaustible.
