NELSON, 4th June.

The Tahuna Sands Association submitted for consideration by the City Council a scheme for the general improvement of the beach and its surroundings. This was discussed at the last council meeting, with the result that the scheme, 6ubject to consideration of certain details, was approved. The council further discussed the Rocks road cliffs menace, and decided to call a public meeting with a view to obtaining an indication of the general attitude in regard to the advisability of obtaining sanction from the Local Government Loans Board to float a loan for the work.

A statement wag made at a meeting of the Nelson Hospital Board that the Motueka Cottage Hospital had created a debit of £972 for the year.
