CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING

INTER-CLUB HIATCH RESULTS (Notes by "Trigger.") Arrangements are well in hand for the big meeting on Friday next,, which commences at 9.30 a.m., and competitors are requested to be thero on time to ensure a big muster at the official opening. The range la now fully equipped with all target mounds, scortngboards, special lighting, and a soUd butts to fire Into. A strong working bee put most of the arrangements la order last Saturday afternoon and- the thanks of the association are mmi t0 them for working, so hard. Entries are coming In very freely, and everything points to toe meeting being a success. Competitors can assist the range officers very much by being ready for their respective squads when they are called upon to go do™, thereby getting through, in good time, and so allowing the visitors to get away early. Cup fired on Saturda> last, and the score-they registered was only Terymedlum. Certainly the conditions are hard—2o shots, no sighter—but being an Empire match this Is only to be expected. Witcombe supervised the shoot, and the targets are now sealed and posted away to London The result will be known about the end of the year, as the shooting takes place in different countries from now on until next November. LOWER HUTT CLUB. Tho sonlor add junior members of this club liavo been fortunate enough to be presented with a silver cup for each grade, to be competed for monthly. Tho captain, H. H. Morris, kindly donated them. The first competition ends this week, and some of the scores are very good—namely, P. B. Goldfinch, 99-98-98; L. Hare, 99-98; IS. Haro, 100; F. W. Chtng, 99-98; O. Ching, 98-98; Blah, 98-98; F. Kersbaw, 98. In the juniors J. Boss 98, M'Coll 98, C. Lamber 9G-9S are shooting well. The club championship starts on 7th June with 15 shoots of 10 shots each, all to count —with'*.one* shoot only per week. In case of sickness with any member arrangements can be; made to make up the missing shoot. So far the club is doing very well in the inter-club matches. Two matches have been fired in each grade, and the A grade hare won two, B grade one, and C grade two. . The ladies have had one win, and considering this is their first season they are performing vory creditably. Thero .will be eleven members taking part In tho W.M.It.A. championship on 3rd' June. The club has lost a good member in their vice-captain, Mr. l'attlnson, who has been transferred to Mastcrton. Ho was a very hard worker for the club and a keen minla,turo enthusiast, and ever; member wishes him

success in his new venture. Sir. P. B. Goldfinch has been elected rice-captain in.
