MAN WOUNDED
ATTEMPTED MURDER ALLEGED

'■■•:"'-.... ; OAMABTT, 29th May. Qii-Saturday evening, at 5 o'clock, Herbert Symons was found at hrs home with a bullet wound in his. left shoulder, caused by a pea rifle. He waß removed to the hospital. A younger brother, Allan, when about to board a slow train for Dunedin, was arrested and placed in custody to appear on a charge of attempted murder.'. It is alleged, that Herbert intervened when Allan was about- to punish a boy for throwing clods of earth at him while working in a garden, and that Allan ran away saying, "I'll get you tor this." As he was about to leave for his sleeping hut, Herbert was shot in the left ■shoulder. The bullet stfuck the bone, "mushroomed," and rebounded into his clothing..
