REGARD FOR AUSTRALIA

(United Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 18th May, 11 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The representatives of Canada, South Africa, and New Zealand, who attended the opening of the Federal Parliament at Canberra, were entertained at a civic reception by the Lord Mayor of Melbourne.
Mr. M'Leod, New Zealand Minister of Commerce, expressed appreciation of the manner in which the people of Australia had received the Dominions' representatives. "We in New; Zealand," he continued, "are the 'closest to Australia, and New Zealand has a deep affection for Australians. There are forty thousand New Zealanders in Australia and fifty thousand Australians living in New Zealand. 1 wish Australians would visit New Zealand more, for we have many natural attractions, and you would enjoy visiting us and getting to know U3 more."
