An objection to the increase in the bank rato to 7 per cont. was expressed atthe meeting of tho Waitemata Electric Powor Board yesterday, and it was decided to ask the Bank of New Zealand to havo tho rato left at 6i per cent, in tho case of the board A member said that tho board's security on the overdraft was gilt-edged and it should receive preferential treatment Mr. G. Trevithick said that he did not think tho board would bo allowed a roduction, as the increase was made to curtail borrowing.
